Using the previous Dashboard? See Organizer guide: How to create and manage products in Marketplace.
The Availability tab decides where a product can be bought and whether it is live. Use it to sell a product on its own from your organizer page or box office, and to offer it as an add-on while buyers check out for an event or membership, for example parking with a concert ticket or a lanyard with a pass. Open it from Build > Products > All products, click Edit on the product, then Availability.
A newly created product has every option here switched off. Turn on at least one sales channel or checkout add-on before expecting to see it anywhere.
Sales channels
You can turn on as many channels as you need.
- Visible on Your Venue Page: the product appears under its category tab on your public organizer page, where any buyer can purchase it as a standalone item.
- Visible on Staff Box Office: the product appears on the Products tab of Operations > Box Office > Sell, so staff can sell it as a standalone item.
Checkout add-ons
Checkout add-ons suggest the product to buyers during event or membership checkout, so they can add it to the same order.
Add to event checkout process
| Event checkout visibility | Where the add-on appears |
|---|---|
| Include for all items | Checkout for every event |
| Include for certain items | Checkout for the selected events only |
| Exclude for certain items | Checkout for every event except the selected ones |
- Turn on Add to event checkout process.
- Choose an Event checkout visibility: Include for all items, Include for certain items, or Exclude for certain items.
- For the "certain items" options, use Select events to search; results show the event name and dates. Each selected event is then listed by its event ID with a remove icon.
- Click Save.
Add to membership checkout process
Same pattern for membership purchases:
- Turn on Add to membership checkout process.
- Choose a Membership checkout visibility: Include for all items, Include for certain items, or Exclude for certain items.
- For the "certain items" options, use Select membership groups to choose the groups.
- Click Save.
Product status
Published or Archived. Changes take effect when you save.
- Archiving hides the product and all of its variants from sale. The product leaves the Products page (find it again under Filters > Archived products > Include archived products, where its card carries an Archived chip) and leaves your public organizer page. Orders and sales history are retained.
- Restoring the product (setting it back to Published) returns it to the Products page and publishes every variant, including any variant you archived individually beforehand. Archive those variants again after restoring if they should stay hidden.
What customers see
- With Visible on Your Venue Page on, buyers find the product under its category tab on your organizer page and choose a variant and quantity.
- With a checkout add-on on, buyers checking out on the web for a matching event or membership are offered the product as an add-on to the same order.
- Each product bought as a checkout add-on has its own PDF in the confirmation email, unless Exclude PDF in Purchase Confirmation Email is on in the Fulfillment tab.
- Archived products and archived variants are not offered anywhere.
Limitations
- Checkout add-ons are scoped by event or membership group. There is no ticket-type selection.
- Checkout add-ons work in the web checkout, not in the apps.
- Products added to an attraction page must also be added to the checkout process here if you want them in both places.
Troubleshooting
- The product does not appear on your organizer page: turn on Visible on Your Venue Page, set Product Status to Published, and click Save.
- The product is missing from the box office: turn on Visible on Staff Box Office and save. On the Products page, Filters > Box office visibility shows which products are visible there.
- The add-on does not appear at checkout: check that Add to event checkout process (or membership) is on, that the event is covered by the visibility rule you chose, and that the buyer is using the web checkout rather than an app.
- A variant you had archived is on sale again: restoring a product republishes every variant. Archive that variant again on the Inventory tab.
