Organizer guide: Creating an event with basic settings

Organizers can create and publish events from the dashboard. This guide walks through each required section for building your event, including event details, ticket types, and publishing options.

Step 1: Start creating an event

  1. Log in to your Showpass Organizer dashboard.
  2. Open the dashboard pop-out menu and select Create Event.

Step 2: Enter basic event details

  • Event Name: The title of your event.
  • Event Link/Slug: Auto-populates from the event name but can be edited before publishing.
  • Banner Image: Upload a banner to visually represent your event.
  • Description: Add a description to help Ticket Buyers understand what the event is about.
  • Categories: Select one or more event categories from the dropdown.
  • Tags: Add optional tags to improve event discoverability.

Visibility options:

  • Public: Visible to everyone on the Showpass site.
  • Hidden: Only accessible via direct event URL.
  • Visible to sellers only: Shown only in the box office for sellers in your network.
  • Visible to public only: Listed on the site but hidden from seller box offices.

Step 3: Set the location

  • Location: Choose from saved locations or enter a new one.
  • Add Location: Manually enter and name a new location.
  • Edit Location: Make changes to saved locations.
  • Online Event: Toggle this to mark the event as virtual.

Step 4: Set the event date and time

  • Event Starts: Select your start date and time using the icons provided.
  • Event Ends: Select the end date and time for the event.
  • Event Doors Open (optional): Select the time doors open at the event.
  • Display date and time as "To Be Determined": Put tickets on sale and add in the date and time details later.

Step 5: Add ticket types

  • Ticket Name: Enter a label for the ticket type (e.g., General Admission).
  • Inventory: Set the quantity available for sale.
  • Price: Define the ticket price.
  • Add New Ticket Type: Click this to add more ticket types.
  • Delete Ticket Type: Use the trash icon to remove a ticket type (disabled after sales).

Step 6: Save or publish your event

After completing all required fields, choose to either:

  • Save Draft: Save your progress without publishing.
  • Publish: Make the event live and visible based on your selected visibility settings.
