Organizer guide: How to create and sell custom ticket packages
Custom ticket packages give your Ticket Buyers the ability to customize their purchase by selecting from a list of available ticket types. This functionality works for both public checkout and box office sales, and is a great tool for flexible bundles or multi-event packages.
If you prefer a predefined set of tickets in a bundle, see our Preset Ticket Packages article.
Key terminology
- Parent Event: The event where the ticket package is listed and purchased.
- Child Event: The event(s) where the individual selectable ticket types are located.
- Parent Ticket: The ticket representing the overall package.
- Child Ticket: The individual tickets included after a package is purchased.
- Inventory Note: Each purchase includes one parent ticket and multiple child tickets based on selection.
How to create a custom ticket package
- Ensure all related events and ticket types are created first.
- From your dashboard pop-out menu, select Ticket Packages.
- Click Create Ticket Package in the top-right corner.
- Choose Custom and click Next.
Step 1: Setup parent ticket
- Enter an internal name for the package.
- Select the Parent Event and Parent Ticket Type.
- Click Next.
Step 2: Add categories and child ticket selections
Each category represents a group of ticket options the buyer can choose from.
- Category Name: Label visible to the buyer (e.g., "Choose your concert").
- Selection Limit: How many options the buyer must select.
- Quantity of Tickets: How many tickets are issued for that category.
To add ticket options:
- Select the Event and Ticket Type for each child ticket.
- Click Add Child Ticket to add more tickets within the same category.
- Click Add Category to start a new category.
- When finished, click Save Category.
- Finally, click Finish to save the package.
Assigned seating compatibility
Custom packages work with assigned seating. For best results:
- Use a parent event without assigned seating.
- Include child events with either GA or assigned seating ticket types.
Note: Custom ticket packages are available only to organizers on Standard or Premium plans.
Ticket buyer experience
When a Ticket Buyer selects a custom ticket package at checkout:
- They will be shown the first category of options to choose from.
- After selecting the required number of options, they click Next.
- On the final category, they click Add to Cart.
- A confirmation message will appear, and the buyer can proceed to checkout.
Box office compatibility
To sell a custom ticket package at the box office:
- Make sure the custom package is already created.
- Go to the Box Office from your dashboard menu.
- Select the quantity and the parent package ticket.
- A screen will appear prompting you to make child ticket selections.
- Once all selections are complete, proceed with the regular checkout flow.
