Organizer guide: Offering discounts on memberships
You can create discount codes on memberships and membership levels using either a percentage (%) off or a fixed dollar ($) amount reduction. This guide walks you through creating and configuring a membership discount.
Creating a discount code
- Navigate to Discounts in your dashboard menu.
- Click New discount in the top right corner.
Fill in the discount details
A pop-up will open where you’ll configure the discount:
- Code: the discount code members will enter at checkout.
- Description: a brief note shown at checkout when the discount is applied.
- Discount unit: choose percent (%) or dollar amount ($).
- Discount percent/amount: the actual value of the discount.
- Total limit: the total number of times the code can be used across all members.
- Limit per user: how many times a single member can use the code.
- Limit per event, per user: how many times the code can be used per membership per member.
- Discount starts on: optional start date for the discount.
- Discount ends on: optional expiry date for the discount.
Once all fields are filled in, click Save. The discount will now be active and usable at checkout.
Tips
- Discount codes on memberships work the same way as event discount codes — members enter the code during checkout to apply the savings.
- Use the limit per user and total limit fields to control how widely a discount is used.
- Leaving the start and end date fields blank keeps the discount permanently active until manually deactivated or the total limit is reached.
