Organizer guide: Selling and redeeming gift cards in the Box Office
Gift cards let ticket buyers purchase a dollar value that can be used later. You can sell gift cards in person through the Box Office, and you can also redeem gift card codes during checkout.

Sell a gift card in the Box Office
In the Box Office, gift cards are treated like a product. Before you add a gift card, you will be prompted to select the customer who is sending it.
- Navigate to the updated box office.
- In the top navigation, select Gift Cards
- Select the gift card you want to sell.
You can use View Gift Card to open the gift card details. - When prompted, select the customer who is sending the gift card:
- Select New customer to create a new sender profile.
- Select Existing customer to search and use an existing sender profile.
- Enter the sender details, then select Add Customer.
If you are collecting marketing consent in person, confirm you have verbal consent before checking the consent box. - Complete the remaining gift card fields shown on screen, then finish checkout as normal.
Redeem a gift card in the Box Office
If a ticket buyer provides a gift card redemption code at the Box Office, you can apply it during checkout using the discount code field.
- Add the ticket(s) or item(s) to the cart.
- In the cart, find the Discount code field.
- Paste or type the gift card redemption code, then apply it.
- If the code is valid, the gift card value will apply to the order total.
If you receive an error, double-check the code and confirm the gift card has remaining balance.
Online gift cards vs Box Office gift cards
Gift card redemption is similar to ticket credits, but the value is a dollar amount, not a set number of credits.
- Box Office redemption: The ticket buyer gives you a gift card redemption code, you apply it in the Discount code field during checkout.
- Online redemption: The ticket buyer redeems the redemption code online first. Once redeemed, it becomes gift card credits on their account. Those credits can then be applied during checkout like an account-level dollar value.
