Organizer guide: How to link your venue layout and assign ticket types to seats

After creating your assigned seating layout, you can link it to your event and assign ticket types to specific seats, rows, or sections. This setup defines which tickets are available where on the seat map and controls how they appear to ticket buyers.

Linking your layout to an event

  • From the main dashboard, go to Manage Events.

  • Find the event you want to link your layout to and click Manage.

  • In the left-hand menu, select Add Assigned Seating.

  • Use the dropdown to select the venue layout you previously created.

Assigning ticket types to seats

  • Click on seats or drag your mouse while holding Command + Shift (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift (Windows) to select multiple seats.
  • A panel will appear on the right where you can assign one or more ticket types to the selected seats.
  • You can clear ticket assignments from selected seats by clicking the Clear option in the panel.
  • Note: Changes save automatically—there is no separate Save button required.

Tip: You can assign more than one ticket type to the same seat. When this is done, the seat will show all associated ticket types with colour indicators.

Customizing ticket type colours

  • To change the colour of a ticket type on the seat map, click the colour circle next to the ticket type.
  • Choose from preset colours or enter a HEX code for a custom colour.

These colours will display on both the public-facing seat map and in the box office view.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Can I link a layout to an event after publishing it?
Yes, as long as the event allows assigned seating, you can link or modify the layout at any time.

Why don't my ticket types appear in the dropdown?
Make sure your ticket types are created before assigning them to seats. You may need to refresh the layout screen after adding new ticket types.

What if I assign the wrong ticket type?
Use the right-hand panel to clear the selected seats and reassign the correct ticket type.

Are changes saved automatically?
Yes—there is no manual Save button. As soon as you assign ticket types, changes are applied immediately.
