Learn how to offer your guests a discount for purchasing certain thresholds of items.
An Auto Discount is a type of discount that automatically applies to a customer's basket when certain basket requirements are met, eliminating the need for a customer to enter a code. Throughout the purchase process, Auto Discounts will also encourage customers to buy more to receive the discount. This replaces the old method of setting up tiered discounts on a specific ticket type.
Navigate to the Auto Discounts tab within your discounts page. From there, click create discount at the top right or centre of the page.
Select the “auto discount” option and populate the discount name:
- Discount name: the name of the discount that customers will see once the purchase requirements are met and the discount is applied.
- Minimum purchase requirements: This is what a customer needs to buy in order to get the discount. Choose from the following selections:

- Purchase amount: Ex. a customer must purchase $50 worth of goods to receive the discount
- Item type quantity: Ex. a customer must purchase two different events, products or memberships to an event to receive the discount
- Basket quantity: Ex. a customer must purchase a minimum of 5 items to receive the discount

- Discount amount: Enter the minimum and maximum purchase amounts to receive set discount amount

- Tiered Discount: You may also click “add tier” to add a variant of the same minimum purchase requirement. In the example below,

- A $6.49 purchase would get you $1 off
- A $19.99 purchase would get you $2 off
- A $22 purchase would get you $3 off
- A $600 purchase would get you $5 off

Once you have set your tier(s), continue to fill out the following information as such:
- Discount Application
- Single application to entire order: Will apply the discount to the total amount of the basket (for example, if someone were to buy 6 products, it would apply the discount to the whole purchase all together).
- From there, you can choose between “All items of this type,” “Certain Items of this type,” and “Everything except certain items of this type.” Once you make your selection, you can choose your applicable events, memberships or products. You can use the toggles to turn on and off the ticket types.
- Apply to each item individually: Will apply the discount to each eligible Product in a basket (for example, if someone was buying 6 products, the discount would apply to each of the 6 products individually).
- From there, you can choose between “All items of this type,” “Certain Items of this type,” and “Everything except certain items of this type.” Once you make your selection, you can choose your applicable events, memberships or products. You can use the toggles to turn on and off the ticket types.
- Limits: Set optional limits (Usage limits per customer, item limit per customer, overall usage limits)
- Activation Dates: Set activation date, optional end date
- Acceptable Locations: Box office and/or online
Don’t forget to click “save” to save your auto discount.
You can view and manage (edit, duplicate, deactivate) your auto discounts back in the main auto discounts tab. Hover over the code and click the three dots to reveal the drop down menu.
