Organizer guide: How abandoned cart emails and analytics work

Abandoned cart emails help you recover lost sales by automatically reaching out to potential ticket buyers who started—but didn’t complete—their purchase. This guide explains how the feature works, how to access analytics, and how to manage settings for your organization.

1. How abandoned cart email reminders work

  • Showpass automatically sends reminder emails to ticket buyers who abandon their cart without completing a purchase.
  • Emails are sent approximately 1 hour after the cart is abandoned, provided the following conditions are met:
    • The event is not sold out and still has available ticket types.
    • The event start time is more than 4 hours away.
    • The ticket buyer hasn’t purchased tickets within the last hour and has not unsubscribed from reminder emails.

2. Example of an abandoned cart email

The email includes a reminder of the pending cart and a direct link for the buyer to complete their purchase.

3. How to access abandoned cart email analytics

To view performance metrics for abandoned cart emails:

  • Go to your dashboard pop-out menu.
  • Select Abandoned Carts.

4. Using filters to refine analytics

On the left-hand side, use the available filters to narrow your view and focus on specific date ranges or events.

Available analytics include:

  • Emails sent: Total number of abandoned cart emails sent

  • Emails opened: Total number of emails that were opened by recipients
  • Recovered carts: Number of purchases completed after an abandoned cart email was sent
  • Recovered revenue: Total dollar amount recovered from these sales
  • Recovery rate: Percentage of recovered carts vs. emails sent

5. How to disable abandoned cart emails

If you prefer not to send these reminders:

  • Go to your dashboard pop-out menu and select Organization Info.

  • Ensure Basic Info is selected in the left-hand menu.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  • Uncheck the box labeled Enable Abandoned Cart Emails.
  • Click Save Changes to confirm.
