Organizer guide: How to add and track seller commissions

Seller commissions allow you to incentivize your Box Office staff to promote specific ticket types or increase overall event sales. Commissions can be configured at both the event level and ticket type level, but must be set before any sales occur.

Note: Seller commissions only apply to transactions processed through the Box Office (desktop or Showpass mobile app).

Setting event-level commissions

To configure commissions at the event level during event creation:

  • Open the event builder and click Advanced Settings.
  • Navigate to the Financial Settings section.

  • Enter the desired commission amounts for cash sales, credit sales, or both.

  • Be sure to Publish your event to activate the commissions.

Setting ticket type-level commissions

To apply commissions to a specific ticket type:

  • Within the event setup, go to Advanced Settings and open Ticket Types.

  • Click the gear icon next to the relevant ticket type.

  • Select the Finance tab at the top.

  • Input the seller commission values for cash sales, credit sales, or both.

  • Click Next at the bottom and then Save the event to apply changes.

Tracking total seller commissions

Overall event totals

  • Go to your dashboard and open the Manage Events menu.

  • Locate the event and click Stats & Info.

  • The total seller commissions for the event will appear in the top-right corner.

Individual seller totals

  • In the dashboard, open Manage Events and find your event.
  • Click the gear icon and select Seller Stats.

  • Here you can view the total commission amounts earned by each seller.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

What happens if I try to add commissions after sales have started?
Commissions can only be applied before any sales are made. Once tickets are sold, you cannot retroactively add or change commissions for that ticket type or event.

Can commissions be applied to online sales?
No, seller commissions only apply to sales processed through the Box Office via desktop or mobile app.

How can I verify which transactions earned commission?
You can view individual transaction logs and seller performance under the Seller Stats section of your event dashboard.
