Organizer guide: Creating and using custom tracking links
Custom tracking links help you measure the performance of specific promotions and campaigns. These unique event-specific links also allow access to hidden ticket types marked as “Visible to Sellers Only.”
Important: Custom tracking links will not work if all ticket types are already public. These links differ from checkout links, which pre-populate ticket quantities but do not reveal hidden ticket types.
How to create a custom tracking link
- Navigate to the Tracking Links section from your dashboard pop-out menu.
- Click on Create Tracking Link in the top left corner.
- Ensure Custom Event Link is selected as the link type.
- Add a clear description to help identify your campaign or seller.
- Select the relevant event and choose which ticket types the link should expose.
- Click Create Link.
Once the link is created, you can share it by clicking the Copy button.
Using tracking links to reveal hidden ticket types
If a ticket type is marked as Visible to Sellers Only, it will not be shown publicly on the event page. However, it can be revealed through a custom tracking link:
- While creating your custom link, ensure you select the 'Filter by Ticket Type' box.
- Search and select the ticket types you want to expose through this link.
- Click Create Link to generate the unique URL.
- Click Copy to share the link.
Anyone using this specific URL will now be able to view and purchase the selected ticket types, even if they are normally hidden to the public.
Tracking performance
- Each custom tracking link has its own stats dashboard showing how many clicks and conversions it has generated.
- Please allow a short delay for the statistics to update. Check the time stamp for the latest refresh.
