Organizer guide: How to cancel a claimed ticket transfer in the Distribution Portal
If a ticket buyer is no longer able to use a transferred and claimed ticket, you can cancel the transfer and return the ticket to your inventory using the Distribution Portal. This guide walks you through the process.
How to cancel a claimed transfer
- Go to the ‘History’ tab in the Distribution Portal.
- Locate the transaction you want to cancel and click the three-dot icon next to it.
- Select the ‘Return Tickets’ option from the dropdown menu.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. Review the details and click ‘Return Transfer’ to proceed.
- Once completed, the transaction status will update to ‘Returned’ in the ‘History’ tab.
- The ticket buyer will automatically receive an email notifying them of the cancellation.
FAQs
Can I cancel a transfer if the ticket hasn’t been claimed yet?
If a ticket has not yet been claimed by the recipient, you can simply void the transfer before it is accepted. Claimed transfers must be returned following the process above.
Will the returned ticket automatically go back to inventory?
Yes, once the transfer is cancelled, the item will be returned to your available inventory for resale or reissue.
