Organizer guide: Increasing visibility with Google Things to Do integration
In addition to Google Events, Showpass integrates with Google Things to Do—a powerful discovery tool that helps users find and book experiences directly via Google Search. While Google Events focuses on ticketed events like concerts or festivals, Google Things to Do covers a wider range of activities including local tours, attractions, and short experiences.
This integration helps your eligible events reach more potential ticket buyers automatically, with no extra steps required on your end.
How it works
- Ensure your event has a valid location: Check that your event address is accurate in your Showpass event setup.
- Confirm your event is eligible: See criteria below.
- Automatic listing: Once eligible, your event is automatically surfaced in Google Search, helping buyers discover and purchase tickets directly.
Eligibility requirements
Your event must not include any of the following:
- Assigned seating
- Event duration longer than 24 hours
- Custom signup questions
- Only free tickets
- Custom ticket packages
- Ticket credits or vouchers
- Payment plans
- Terms and conditions required at checkout
Additionally, your ticket titles must not include the words "Discount" or "Promo". Discount codes can still be applied at checkout, but cannot appear in the ticket name if you want it displayed on Google Things to Do.
Pricing and ticket display
Google requires that ticket pricing shown on their platform matches your Showpass event pricing exactly. If there’s a mismatch, the event may be excluded from the Google listing.
Best for
- Non-ticketed experiences
- Short events and local attractions
- General admission events under 24 hours
To maximize your exposure on both Google Events and Things to Do, ensure your events meet the guidelines above.
