Ticket buyer guide: How to make a charitable donation during checkout
If an event includes a charitable donation option, you'll be able to add a contribution at checkout. Here's how to review the details and manage your donation amount.
How to add a donation at checkout
- On the review page before payment, a donation box will appear if the organizer has enabled donations.
- You’ll see a suggested donation amount by default.
- Click the dropdown arrow to:
- Opt out of donating
- Select a different preset amount
- Enter a custom donation by choosing Custom Amount
- If you choose a custom amount, a field will appear to enter your donation.
- Click Add Donation to confirm your choice.
- The donation will now appear in your purchase summary. You can remove it if needed before completing payment.
Note: Donations are non-refundable. Tax receipts are not automatically provided.

Where can I see what charity I'm donating to?
Details of the charity will be displayed on the same page as the donation box during checkout.
Can I remove or change the donation before completing my purchase?
Yes. You can select a different amount or choose to remove the donation before proceeding to payment.
Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
No. Tax receipts are not automatically issued at this time. Please contact the event organizer directly if you need one.
Can I add a donation after my purchase is complete?
Not currently. Donations must be added during the initial checkout process.
