Ticket buyer guide: How to return free tickets
If you’re no longer able to attend an event and the organizer has enabled free returns, you can return your ticket(s) directly from your Showpass account. Returned tickets go back into event inventory and your order will be updated accordingly.
Before you begin
- This option is only available if the event organizer has enabled free returns.
- Only free tickets are eligible for this return method. Paid tickets must follow the organizer’s refund policy.
- You must be logged into your Showpass account to access your order history.
How to return your tickets
- Log into your Showpass account and go to your My Orders page.
- Find the order with the ticket(s) you want to return.
- Click Order Options and select Return Free Tickets.
- In the pop-up window, select the ticket(s) you'd like to return and click Continue.
- Select a reason for your return from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm your return. A success message will appear to let you know the return is complete.
You will see a new return receipt in your Orders page. The original ticket will no longer be active or scannable for entry.

Why don’t I see the 'Return Free Tickets' option?
This feature is only available for events where the organizer has enabled free returns. If the option isn’t visible, it means returns are not allowed for your ticket type.
Will I receive a refund after returning a free ticket?
No. This return process is for free tickets only. No refunds or credit will be issued.
Can I undo a return?
No. Once a return is confirmed, it is final. Your ticket will no longer be valid for use.
