Ticket buyer guide: How to resell your tickets
If you can no longer attend an event, Showpass allows you to resell your ticket(s) to another buyer—if the event organizer has enabled ticket resales. This article outlines how to list, cancel, and manage your resale.
Before you begin
- Resale must be enabled by the event organizer. If the option is not visible in your order, resale is not available.
- You may only resell standard paid tickets. The following are not eligible:
- Products
- Memberships
- Complimentary tickets
- Box office (cash) sales
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method, minus Showpass, processing, and/or organizer fees.
How to put tickets up for resale
- Log into your Showpass account and go to the My Orders section.
- Find the order that includes the ticket(s) you want to resell.
- Click Order Options and select Resell your tickets.
- In the pop-up, choose the tickets you wish to resell and click Confirm.
Your tickets will now show as Resale in Progress. Once purchased, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
When your ticket sells
- Showpass will issue a refund to your original payment method for the face value and taxes, minus any applicable fees.
- If the refund fails, you will receive an email prompting you to update your payment method.
How to update your payment method (if refund fails)
- Click Update payment method in the email from Showpass.
- Under the Resale tab, select Manage.
- In the modal, click Add, input your new payment information, and click Agree and Save.
- Set this as your preferred payment method by clicking Set payment method.
Please allow up to 10 business days for refunds to appear on your account. Affirm refunds may take up to 15 business days and will continue the payment schedule.
How to cancel a resale listing
- You can cancel your ticket resale if the ticket has not yet been sold.
- Go to the My Orders section and click View Order.
- Under the Resale section, select Cancel Resale.
- Confirm the cancellation in the modal that appears.
- Refresh the page. Your tickets will now be reactivated and scannable.
Troubleshooting or FAQs
Why can’t I see the ‘Resell your tickets’ option?
The organizer may not have enabled resale for this event. Resale is also not available for complimentary or box office-issued tickets.
What happens if my ticket doesn’t sell?
Your ticket remains valid and unchanged. You may cancel the resale and continue to use it.
Can I choose the resale price?
No. Resales occur at the original face value plus taxes. You will receive a refund minus fees if the ticket sells.
