You have the ability to control taxes in a number of ways for tickets and products.
When editing your Organization Info, you can set default tax settings for all of your events and products in the Financials tab.
Default Tax Percentage
Set your organizations default tax percentage that will be applied to all new and existing events, tickets, products and product attributes.
Enter the percentage in decimal format eg. 5% = 0.05
** Please note, changing the organizations default values will only update event, ticket type, product and product attribute values that DO NOT have a custom value set.
You can choose to include tax into the price of the ticket of the payment type (ie. Credit or Cash). Simply check the boxes for which payment type you want to absorb, if any.
Absorb Tax Calculation:
item-price - (item-price / (1 + tax));
Event & Product Settings
You can optionally set a custom tax setting for events and products.
By default, each event and product will use the Organization Settings.
By entering a custom tax percentage on an event or product level, each ticket type and product attribute will have this custom value applied.
Updating event and product settings will only update ticket types and product attributes that DO NOT have a custom value set.
When editing an event, click the gear icon to open the advanced ticket type dialog.
By default, ticket types will use custom event settings (if any) then will use organization settings. You can enter in a custom percentage for a ticket type, and choose to absorb taxes for cash or credit.
When editing a product click the gear icon to open the financial settings for the product attribute.
By default, product attributes will use custom product settings (if any) then will use organization settings. You can enter in a custom percentage for a product type, and choose to absorb taxes cash or credit.
