Introduction:
Holds are similar to making reservations, ensuring specific inventory is set aside for later purchase. For example, an organizer may reserve seats for sponsors or customers may request to hold tickets for future purchase.
1) Putting Inventory on Hold
- Add items to your cart.
- Click Continue to proceed to checkout.
- At checkout, add a customer to the transaction by either creating a new customer or selecting an existing one.
- Once the customer is added, click Create Hold.
- After creating the Hold, a success banner will confirm that it has been created.
2) Search for a Created Hold:
- Go to the Holds tab in the bottom navigation menu in the Box Office.
- Holds are added in descending order, if the hold was recently created, it should appear at the top of the list.
- Alternatively, you can search for a hold using the customer’s name or email.
- Once you have found the Hold you want to process press the chevron button to expand the content.
3) Processing a Hold
- Click on the card or press the Chevron on the right to expand the contents.
- If the hold details are correct and you're ready to collect payment, click the Checkout button.
- You will be directed to the checkout flow where you can process the hold as a regular transaction.
4) Editing Hold Contents
- If you need to make a change to the Hold, select Edit hold under the more menu on the hold you’d like to alter.
- Once you have selected the Edit hold, You will be directed to the Sell page, with your Hold items in the cart.
- You can add or remove any item from the cart and either Update Hold or continue to checkout.
- Updating the hold will save the nearly edited Hold.
5) Splitting a Hold
- On the Holds page select the Hold you wish to Split.
- Press the more menu icon to expand the menu options
- Select Split Hold.
Select Customer:
- Choose whether to split the hold with a new or existing customer.
- Specify the number of items you’d like to transfer to the new hold. Only enter the quantity you want moved—the remaining items will stay in the original hold.
- Click the Split & Save button to apply the changes.
- A confirmation message will appear in the top right corner.
6) Releasing a Hold
- Expand the hold and click the More icon to reveal the Release Hold button.
- Click the Release Hold button.
- A confirmation modal will appear to verify the release.
- Click the Confirm button to finalize the release.
