What is Google Things to Do?
In addition to Google Events, Showpass also integrates with Google Things to Do, a discovery tool designed to help users find and purchase tickets for a wide variety of events and activities directly through Google Search. While Google Events focuses on ticketed events like concerts and sports games, Google Things to Do broadens the scope to include activities such as local tours, attractions, and other non-ticketed experiences. This integration allows your event to gain more visibility, making it easier for potential ticket buyers to discover your event with no extra work on your part.
How It Works
To get started with Google Things to Do, follow these simple steps:
- Ensure Correct Location: Verify that your event's location address is accurate in your Showpass account.
- Ensure Event Eligibility: Your event must meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.
- Voilà! Automatic Listing: Once your event meets these requirements, your event will automatically appear in Google Search, allowing users to purchase tickets directly from Google.
Event Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for listing in Google Things to Do, your event must NOT have the following features:
- Assigned seating
- Events longer than 24 hours
- Custom signup questions
- Exclusively free tickets
- Custom packages
- Ticket credits
- Payment plans
- Terms and conditions required for ticket purchase
Additionally, Google requires that the ticket prices displayed on their platform match the prices listed on your event page. Tickets with "Discount" or "Promo" in their names cannot be listed on Google Things to Do. While discount codes can still be applied during checkout, tickets must not be marketed as discounted or promotional for Google to approve their display.
Google Things to Do offers a convenient way to expand the reach of your events, particularly for non-ticketed experiences and shorter activities.
